Is Rogers blocking Google?

Hello,

I had a very odd experience the last few weeks. For about 2 weeks I could not connect to google.com or google.ca at all from either of my home computers. It is the default page for all my browsers and I would always get a DNS error, yet I could connect to any other webpage.
So after the 2 frustrating weeks I called Rogers my ISP and complained about this. At the same time that I was complaining I was refreshing my browser and pinging www.google.com over and over again. Not even 30 seconds after I complained to Rogers, it worked and as worked ever since.
They blamed it on my router, but I did not reboot it as they suggested. Am I correct in being a little suspicious of this, or am I just paranoid. The whole incident seems fishy…
