I love you Cerulean Blue

Posted

I have just finished mixing 25 shades of cerulean blue for my next painting, which I think I will name “I love you Cerulean Blue” (thanks to Sonic Youth for the name inspiration). It took about 6 hours as I spent so much time testing each shade. The purple glow painting was tricky and I didn’t want to make the same mistakes I made with it and have to redo many of the shades.

In the photo you can see how I put them all in little numbered containers along with my final colour test. I won’t give a preview of the painting they will create, but I will post the occasional photo of the process. I have spent 10 hours in total for this painting and I have yet to put a drop of paint on the canvas.
